Andrew Nkoyoyo:Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. Hello, dear friend, welcome to Kingdom. Come with me. Andrew Nkoye, thank you for joining me on the conclusion of our series. Sacred and Profane, the Urgent Call to Restore God's Holy Name. And this is message four, and we have entitled it God's Holy Name Reclaimed From Empty Religion to Kingdom Power.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:You see, for three weeks we labored to talk about the weight of God's holy name. Out of Exodus, chapter 20, verse 7. You shall not take the Lord's name in vain. And then, for the second week, we talked about the cost, the consequences of dishonoring God's name. Out of Romans, chapter 2, verse 24. The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, and we talked about that. There are consequences. When we defile or dishonor, or when God's name is dishonored and defiled in the earth, there are consequences. But then we talked about the hope, the blessings. What happens? Why should we honor? It's not only for that god gets the glory, but also they are blessings that come to us because of the honor that we bring to god's name. And we read ezekiel 36, verse 20, how god really said they profane my holy name. Wherever you know, the israelites were scattered. They profane name and it took issue with that. And so we have an invitation here. We stand at the crossroads because God is calling us from empty religion to kingdom power, from casual Christianity to sacred living, from powerless form of Christians to transforming presence in our lives because of the name, and we broke down what that name means and what it brings, and what really God's name does. So our response is this holy and awesome is His holy names. Out of Psalms 11 and verse 9. Out of Psalms 11 and verse 9. Daily, honoring His name, you know allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts, living as witnesses, you know releasing generational impact. So in this last one we are going to really discover seven transforming steps that I'm going to share with you, that I'm pursuing myself, to reclaim what has been lost, the glory and the honor that we have lost, to step into what God has promised us. Okay, seven glorious steps. Number one recognize the weight of his name, his name. See, in the first episode we talked about the weight of His name. The holiness of God is carried in His name. So our problem is we are treating God's holy name as a common thing, treating the holy things as common, and in our culture, you know, people use God's name casually. And when people use God's name casually, and when you use God's name casually, it begins to lose his power in your life, as I'm going to show you, you know. So, when we revere God's name, it has the power, the importance that God has put in it, so that when we speak that name with reverence, as I'm going to share with you, we begin to see that demonstration of the power of the name. But our problem is we have been treating God's holy name as common. But he tells us you shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain. Exodus, chapter 20, verse 7. Holy and awesome is his name. Psalms 111, verse 9. Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he. Psalms 99, verse 3.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Okay, here is the transformation promise from casual familiality to holy reverence. See, this is the transformation that we should seek and God desires for us. The application is we have to be, you know, sacred name awareness. We have to be aware that God's name is sacred, is holy. We have to be aware of that. So, you know, we need to ask the Holy Spirit, you, holy Spirit, and to be diligent to be aware of God's name and our daily prayer is Lord, restore to me the awe of your holy name. Let that be a prayer. You could even pause this podcast or pause the video and pray this prayer Lord, restore the awe of your holy name. You see, because when we lose the awe of God's holy name, we lose the power that that name has. We have kind of unpacked that already.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:So step number two Repent of the name, dishonor. You have to repent. If you have been dishonoring, profaning God's name and we have covered what that looks like and I'm not going to repeat it Then you repent and the problem that we have is using his name carelessly. It's part of the culture, but it's not the kingdom culture. You see, we ask why the church today doesn't really see the demonstration of the power. Yet we pray in the name. You know why? Because when you use the name of God casually, it we pray in the name. You know why? Because when you use the name of God casually, it's like any other name. You're not going to see the impact of the power of that name when you're confronting demons and satanism and strongholds, but when you carry that name with reverence, with awe, and the holiness that it has and the power, dear friend, that name becomes the name that it is according to the Bible. You mention that name and demons. That's why what you say and how you treat that name and how you use it is going to determine the amount of power that name is going to produce in your life and through you.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:I'm telling you, you know, I was with one place with Christians and there was throwing out, you know, and they were Christians, but to them they were like it's okay. And I was like, no, I have an issue with that. But then when we went to prayer that same evening, after they have thrown around God's name just carelessly, they're wanting to cast out demons, demons were not coming out. Now you say, well, it has nothing to do with them. Yeah, but the thing is, god has put his power, his glory himself in that name. When you dishonor his name, you are dishonoring God. Let that sink in. You are dishonoring God. I've already unpacked.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:God takes issue. He says my name is being profane and he says you shall never use it carelessly, you shall not use it in vain. It's my name. That's why the Asian Israelites they had not to even use his name. They had to come up with Lord Adonai because his name was too holy to mention. So return to me with all your heart.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Job, chapter 2, verse 12. Just repent, knowingly and unknowingly. Just repent, he says. Return to me with all your heart. Another promise is if my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:2 Chronicles 7.14. Humble yourself, see. This is something that I do throughout the day and in the evening, as I reflect and review my day and my walk, I say Holy Spirit, have I used the Lord's name in vain? I look back and if I did, I repent, created me a clean heart, o God, and renew a right spirit that honors the name of God. And I'm telling you, as you begin to work on being aware of how you treat God's name, the Holy Spirit is going to be right there to help you. At least that's what he does with me. And I believe he's going to be there because he wants. He's here to glorify God. And you cannot glorify God by not glorifying his name, not honoring his name. See, some people think you know, glorifying God is separate from glorifying God's name. No, that's why he said if I am lifted, my name is lifted, I'm going to draw all men. You see, it's his name.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:When we preach, we preach the name. We cast out demons in the name. Everything is done in the name, amen. So the transformational promise here is from empty words to heart transformation. He wants our hearts to be transformed Because the Bible tells us that from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. You see, when we are backslidden and we have no fear of God in our hearts, it's easy for us to use God's name in vain and not even feel anything. But he says return to you and I'm going to return, return with all your heart.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:So the application is allow the Holy Spirit to audit, audit, name, honor, audit, audit yourself. In other words, take inventory. How am I using God's name, dear friend? You're reclaiming the power, the presence, the glory that that name has and the daily prayer. Father, forgive me for the times I have dishonored your name. Simple, from the heart and God, I'm telling you when God brought this to my attention, I began to weep like a baby. When God brought this to my attention, I began to weep like a baby and the presence of God began to wash over me as I was repenting. And then the power of God could feel, the power of his name and then, dear friend, you can declare the name of the Lord over yourself, because the name of the Lord is a strong tower.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:The Bible tells us that the righteous run into that name. Adonai Yahweh, you know, the ancient Israel says I am what he said to Moses, I am who I am. They dare not even use that name. The I am, but that. Not even use that name. The I am. But that's what we are dealing with. That's the God on your side, the God who can part the Red Sea. He can part your Red Sea, but he wants the reference of him and his name back into your life, back into our lives, because that brings the power and the presence. Oh shakata, rando, robo sata. I feel the anointing. Oh mighty God.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Number three restore proper use of his name. Our problem is misusing God's name in daily speech. We misuse it. Let your speech always be gracious. Colossians 4.6. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18.21. That's how precious it is for you to not defile God's name with your lips, with your mouth. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable. Psalms 19, verse 14. Let's speak the name of God the proper way. Use it the proper way. Use it the proper way and when you use it, demons are going to flee Things, sickness is going to disappear Because you are carrying the name Like we talked about. We are name bearers. We are carrying this name and the power of the name is in us, with us, and is being released through us.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:I remember that afternoon with these friends I was hanging out with. They had screamed and yelled at the demon Couldn't come out. A few minutes later I stood in front of the young man and began to shake like a leaf and I said, in the name of Jesus, leave. Not because I was good or was better, but I knew the reverence. You can't just scream the name of God just because you're a Christian or because whatever, and then demons say no. The demons see, like they say you know Paul, I know Jesus, I know who are you. You carry the authority when you treat God's name with that holiness, that reverence, the power and the presence of that name is with you, dear friend. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm not trying to say that I'm better than you know. I'm just saying I observed, just hanging out with these people for what?
Andrew Nkoyoyo:An hour or so. How reckless they were with the name of the Lord, how careless. And then next they're expecting to see miracles, signs and wonders with the same name they use as part of their. You know, some was even vogue Amen. So from careless speech to sacred declaration, that's the transformational promise, when you begin to honor this, that you go from just callous use of the name to sacred power, decrees and declaration being released through the name of God.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:So this is the challenge. Do a 21 day speech challenge. Just observe how do you use your in your speech. Do you honor God's name? Do you use God's name the proper way For the proper use? Okay, god's name was never meant to be part of our curse words or whatever, I don't care. Like somebody said well, you're being too uptight. No, it's in the Bible. There are repercussions, there are consequences and actually they are deadly. Thank God for Jesus. In the Old Testament there were deadly consequences for defiling God's name.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:So, daily prayer, may the words of my mouth honor your name. You know when I teach people about the blessings of you know, praying in tongues. I believe one of those blessings is when we pray in tongues in the Spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit gets a hold of our tongue and he makes His tongue right your tongue, his tongue and he cleanses you of all this profanity and this careless speech and careless things from your mouth and from your lips and from your tongue. Okay, just yield your tongue and your mouth, your lips, to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to empty you and sanctify you, and I'm telling you he's going to do it. I've seen Him do it with people I've prayed for who used to have bad, bad vocabulary and were so vulgar. And the Holy Spirit got a hold of them and he purified their speech, he purified their tongue. Now they are using their tongue, their lips, for the glory of God, to lift the name, and they are seeing results of the power, the presence of the name.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Number four represent his name faithfully. See, our problem is living inconsistently with his name. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable. 1 Peter, 2, verse 12. Walk in a manner worthy of your calling or his name. Ephesians 4, verse 1. Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God, all to the glory of his name. 1 Corinthians 10, verse 31.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:And the transformation promises we go from hypocritical living to authentic witness, because our words are matching up with our life. Now, I'm not talking about being perfect. I'm talking about this is the promise, this is what I'm pursuing, this is what I'm sharing. That about being perfect I'm talking about. This is the promise, this is what I'm pursuing, this is what I'm sharing that you should pursue. So together we become the sanctified body of Christ. We are not there, but we are willing to be transformed. We are willing to be cleansed and purified from hypocrites to authentic witnesses. I'm not saying here that you have to have it all together, no, but just remember you bear the name of God.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:The personal application name-bearer checklist Make a checklist, in other words, just check yourself. Just remember you bear the name of God. When you go out, in your home, in your family, you bear the name of God and people watch you. What you do, what you say, you bear the name of God. You either bring glory or you bring dishonor. Okay, and none of us is perfect, but we can be yielded to the one who can cleanse us and sanctify us from all unrighteousness so we can represent Him well. If we are willing to surrender, he will do wonders. He will do wonders with us. So the application is help me live worthy of your name. Holy Spirit, help me to live a life that is worthy. That's one of my honest prayers every day, every morning, every afternoon, every evening. Help me to live a life that is worthy of your name. Am I perfect? No, do I fall short Many times? I don't know how many times in a day. But you know what. He's there. He's willing and he's ready to cleanse us and to restore us and to produce of all the things that will hinder us from walking in the reality of the name and the glory that he is and his name has. And as long as we are willing to surrender, he's going to make us into the vessel, the people, the instrument. You know the ministers of the spirit that he wants us to be. You know the ministers of the Spirit that he wants us to be.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Revere number five revere his name in worship. See, our problem is shallow worship experiences. But here is the sermon says O Lord, o Lord, how majestic is your name? Sermons 8, verse 1. I ascribe to the Lord the glory due to his name. Psalms 29, verse 2. Glorify your name forever. Psalms 86, verse 12.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:You see, all these prayers glorify your name. One of my favorite songs glorify your name. It's about the name. It's about the name, because God is the name. The name is God, hallelujah. So the psalmist here says glorify your name. Even one of Jesus' prayers says glorify your name. I have preached your name, now glorify your name. Even one of Jesus' praises glorify your name. I have preached your name, now glorify your name. Glorify me so that I may bring glory to your name. So, dear friend, it's about the name. We have unpacked it.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:I pray this really has gone deep into your spirit to really awaken you to the desire for his name, the transformation promise from routine to reverence. We need to go from routine to reverence to where we actually have reverence for the name, the personal application, sacred name worship. I put here sacred name worship guide. In other words, you know, find, create a little guide or something that you can follow, can help you To, whether songs or scriptures you know throughout, you know you find them. You know in the book of Psalms especially, that talk about. You know the name of God, the name of the Lord. You know that can help you to go back and begin to really see how majestic his name is and to help you worship, recover the reverence that you may have lost.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:I know I go through the book of Psalms, you know, over and over, and it talks a lot about the name of the Lord. You know he's a strong tower and I get rejuvenated and I remember, I'm reminded that if I revere the name, if I'm under the name, the name of the Lord is a strong tower. It has protection for me, has protection for my family, for the ministry. It has protection. I'm covered in the name. Oh, daily prayer, teach me to worship your name in spirit and in truth. Let it be a prayer. Teach me to worship your name in spirit and in truth. You know, in John he talked about you know that God is looking for those who will worship what are they worshiping? His name in spirit and in truth.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Number six release his name's power. Release the power of his name. Our problem is we're feeling spiritually powerless. We have that problem where we feel like, wow, I'm spiritually powerless. But you see, this is what he says In my name they will cast out demons. Mark 16, 17.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Proverbs 18, verse 10. The righteous run into it and they are safe. See, dear friend, I pray this over myself and my children and my family. Every evening I say, I pray, I bring them under the tower, our partners. I declare this over them, morning and evening Because the name of the Lord. Evening because the name of the Lord. I declare the name of the Lord over them. I speak the name of God over you, even you right now watching. I speak the name of God over you needing protection, needing deliverance. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are saved. Hallelujah, oh, how I love his name.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. To the glory of God, the Father, now, did you hear that? To the glory of God, the Father. Now, did you hear that At the name of Jesus, every knee bows to the name? You know we're going to have another series just talking about the names of God, but I just wanted to first start by unpacking the majesty For us to be really reminded, the majesty of the name. At the end of the day we worship, we bow at the name. At the name of Jesus, knees bow, demons bow, like he said, on earth, under the earth. At the name, dear friend, I just want to drive that home At the name. That's why, when you use the name of Jesus, when you have true reverence and fear, it carries the anointing, the power.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Those that do not know the power of the name, they don't really see the majesty, the power that that name carries. But I pray that today, today, you have been awakened. You have been really your passion, your love for the name reignited and reactivated and renewed Transformation promise from powerless religion to kingdom authority. Do you see how we said it at the beginning, we go from just empty religion to kingdom power. When we recover this lost, really inheritance of the power and the authority that God has given us through his name. And the application is we use his name in faith, we worship it in faith, we preach it in faith, we believe it, we trust it.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:And I'm telling you, you know we begin to see the demonstration, terror, and then the daily prayer is show me the power available in your name. Let that be your prayer. Show me the power that is available in your name, release the power of your name. Whatever you want to pray, I'm just telling you begin to put it part of your prayer. There is power in the name and I'm telling you, when God begins to reveal the power of his name, your prayer life is going to change. How you pray, how you minister to yourself and others is going to shift. Go to the next level, because you know now the power that is embedded in that name. The name carries Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:And number seven is raise a standard for his name. See, our problem is failing to pass on the reverence. Verse 7 is raise a standard for his name. See, our problem is failing to pass on the reverence to the next generation. One generation shall commend your works to another. Psalms 145, verse 4. Tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord. Psalms 78, verse 4. His name shall endure forever. Psalm 72, verse 17.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:See the transformation promise here from personal practice to generational impact. You see, when we have, we carry this reverence, we carry this knowledge within us. We can begin to pass it on to our children, to our neighbors, to the next generation, because we carry the presence, the reality of that name and we can begin to impart it to others. So the personal application is begin to build a legacy. And how do you build a legacy? By doing all the other things we have covered. Yes, you living out the reality, the requirements that God requires of us as his name bearers. By doing so, we will be able to pass it on to the next generation, and the daily prayer is use me to restore honor to your holy name. Hallelujah, let that be a prayer.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:I have a simple prayer of holy reclamation. It's a long prayer, but I'll make it available for you to download online as a PDF, wherever you are watching this. Say Heavenly Father, I come before you with my heart awakened to the weight of your holy name. Forgive me for the times I have treated your name as common in my prayers, in my speech, in my daily life, I've been guilty of empty religion. When you have offered me kingdom power, create in me, oh God, a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Lord, I acknowledge ways of dishonoring your name through casual prayers, careless words. Through casual prayers, careless words, compromised living, powerless worship. Today, I choose to reclaim the power of your holy name and I commit to honor your name in reverence. Speak your holy name with purpose, live worthy of your name. Pass this sacred truth to others. Transform me from empty religion to holy encounters. Cause your Christianity to consecrated living, powerless prayers to kingdom authority, personal practice to generational impact.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:I declare today that I will no longer be satisfied with the form without power. Let your name be glorified in me and through me. Make me a true carrier of your presence. In the name above all names, the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Dear friend, there is a promise here In Ephesians 3, verse 21. And to him, who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think according to the power that works in us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, through all generations, forever and ever. Amen, dear friend, god is able to restore the lost glory, the lost fear of God, the lost reverence. He's able to restore His glory in your life and to bring you to the place that he needs you to be when you begin to honor His name.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Dear friend, as we finish, we want to invite you. You are listening. You don't have a relationship with Jesus. We want to give you this opportunity. We thank you for watching, Thank you for listening. Now it's time to make a decision. Jesus has paid the price. So you can have a relationship with God, acknowledge that you have sinned and you have fallen short of the glory of God, and you receive the free gift that he gives through his death, his resurrection, and he's in heaven right now and he's coming back for you.
Andrew Nkoyoyo:Would you pray this prayer with me? Say, jesus, I confess I'm a sinner and I need a savior. Would you save me? I give you my sin and I take your righteousness. I confess that you're the son of God, that God raised you from the dead. I believe in my heart and I confess with my mouth that I'm yours. I am saved today, dear friend, you have said that simple prayer. Jesus has come into your heart. The Bible calls you a Christian.
